The video on demand platform has launched NextUp for Artists, NextUp Women To Watch and NextUp for Gamers

In a bid to support and encourage the next generation of creators and artists from India, YouTube has opened entries for NextUp 2019, and also announced three new editions this year, NextUp for Artists, NextUp Women To Watch and NextUp for Gamers.

YouTube NextUp provides creators’ an opportunity to be mentored by production and channel development experts and learn new production techniques to further enhance their content. It also provides creators an opportunity to collaborate with other talented creators, as well as be a part of the global NextUp community.

“YouTube today reaches over 265 million Indians every month, and has a vibrant and growing creator ecosystem. We have come a long way from where we were 5 years ago, with just 5 Creators crossing the 1M subscriber mark, to today, where we have over 1,200 channels. Right from the start, we have been invested in growing the creator and artist community, and it’s our mission to help creators be discovered, build a business and succeed on our platform. We are excited to bring three new special editions of NextUp, and can’t wait to see the fantastic entries this year,” said Marc Lefkowitz, head of YouTube Creatorand artist development, APAC.

In the previous three editions, YouTube has helped fans discover talent from across the country, be it their favorite Marathi entertainers, sports enthusiasts or their own gardening buddy, and has successfully contributed to the success of over 50 Indian creators.
