Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp recently received various new features. Now, the company has announced some new changes coming to the app. Facebook-owned WhatsApp will soon get Status Ads by 2020 as announced by the company at the ongoing Facebook Marketing Summit (FMS) 2019. Along with this, the app will also get Business and product catalog.
WhatsApp is the only Facebook-owned app which does not have any ads running on the platform. The company is now planning to change this with the introduction of ads in the Status section of the app by next year. The company is expected to introduce ads which will click to WhatsApp from Facebook and ads that click to WhatsApp from Instagram. Facebook and Instagram users will see an ad which will prompt them to open and share on WhatsApp.
Apart from this, the company is also planning to bring changes to WhatsApp for Business as well. WhatsApp for Business is said to get richer messaging format options where users will be able to view the text along with an image in a single message and PDF along with a text in single message. Moreover, the company will also be integrating WhatsApp product catalog with the already available Facebook catalog. Using this users will be able to message about a product and view the product and the product catalog.
Recently, at F8 conference Facebook announced that it will be adding the option to allow business to add a product catalogue inside WhatsApp chats. With the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to see a business catalogue right within WhatsApp when chatting with a business. “With catalogs, businesses can showcase their goods so people can easily discover them,” claimed Facebook.
