This quote has been the driving force behind Babita Baruah’s 21 year stint in the industry.
Babita joined JWT, then HTA Calcutta, in 1996.
Over the years, she worked in the agency’s Mumbai and Delhi offices, on key businesses.
Babita now heads WPP’s GTB India. GTB partners Ford globally.
She is passionate about diversity at work, about women empowerment leading to productivity, about creative solutions that shift the needle for the brand and business.
In 2004, Babita was one of the 12 Indian women to be selected for the prestigious British Chevening scholarship in the U.K, on Women and Leadership.
In 2016, she was invited to Harvard Business School as a speaker on Trends in India Marketing, in the India Conference.
Earlier this year, Babita was invited to speak on Women as Professionals, at the Women Influence Forum in Geneva.
Her role in the industry in mentoring young professionals in the industry, developing initiatives like SheHour and SheTime for making the workplace and culture conducive and encouraging for women has been recognised. She is actively involved in encouraging women at work, to push themselves to overcome all constraints. She has recently initiated efforts to help women entrepreneurs of the North East in brand building.
Babita lives in Gurgaon with her husband and her daughter.
